I paid for an annual subscription in March through my Apple ID. For some reason (either firmware or app software update) I no longer have access to my premium account. I requested assistance from seeking alpha support and they can’t find any account information for me. I have 9 months of my subscription left that I paid for that I can’t use. Please refund my money.
Now all of a sudden there is pop up to subscribe on every single screen. It drives me absolutely crazy and now I have to consider other options for tracking my watch list. Such a shame…
Accounting?
The current app is not working. I get no data for my portfolios upon launching the app. After many attempts it sometimes will start working, but more often than not I give up first.
I mostly buy for the articles as it helps me research companies past just the financials. The premium service is a bit pricey, so I don’t know how long I will keep it considering I subscribe to other services that give me things seeking alpa lacks.
So many articles and quick rabbit holes to chase down. Worth it just for the articles, but the analytics are useful too.
It’s right on
I picked some really good stocks last year , by using the data that you supplied , and using the stocks that was recommended , a wonderful App to have , thanks !
Immediately bombarded with “premium service” and other advertisements. After downloading I spent so much time hitting “X” to clear the advertisements that I finally gave up on this app. Also, I saw a lot of emotional and political driven opinions. Few facts or hard skills. Deleting it.
New reply to dev response: I did provide details. It’s like you guys don’t even use your app. You removed navigation functionality that is used daily. The constant bugs, glitches and loading issues are becoming overwhelming. What in the world is wrong with your dev team? Also, removing “Markets” from the bottom navigation and replacing it with “Analysis” is just ridiculously stupid. Everyone needs quick access to the markets page, and that is now gone. You can’t get the same view anywhere else now.
This app is getting very expensive every year. I will not renew this coming year. The app has bugs and is cumbersome to use.
SA is great , but too expensive. Larry L. Former subsciber
Futures data has always been on the Markets Data tab until the latest update. I simply cannot find it anymore. Bring this back ASAP!
iPads off out off Blocking
Relatively good app, but there’s no search function on pages, e.g., transcripts, when on Mobile. Please fix this for mobile - basic fix / add-on which should be on any version especially if you’re paying for it.
This website is a terrific resource for all things financial.
The latest update change the advanced charting tool and the draw tools do not work on mobile (iOS nor android). The app “white screens” constantly forcing a reload. These are backslide issues that didn’t exist before. Please do more QA on mobile devices v8.0.1
Simply can’t escape the bugs. The developer suggesting we uninstall and re-install the app suggests that they don’t know what causes the platform to be so buggy. App has been nearly worthless since they put almost all content behind a paywall. Not worth using anymore.
It’s been a persistent issue over the last year at least that pages and portfolios don’t load including when opening via iOS notifications. I keep having to kill the app and then restart
Not sure if it’s my new iPhone 14 or not but this app consistently glitches out, doesn’t load properly and then I have to restart my phone to get it to work. Inconvenient
Since the latest update, I get blank screens almost every time I open the app. If I force close the app and then re-launch it everything works fine. It’s obviously annoying to have to do this just to check on a stock price. Help Support was useless and gave me a half baked answer. They suggested I close my browser even though the ticket clearly specified a bug with the app. This isn’t the first time this has happened and I’m considering ending my subscription.
Fix your app. For days now, I am unable to access news content. Just the headlines…
Needs update. Doesn’t refresh automatically just shows a gray screen. Have to force shut down app and restart.
I’ve been a paid user for years. Website works well, but app recently has been so bad. Takes 10s for pages to load, many pages never load
A recent change to the app causes it to shut down after a couple of minutes of inactivity. Well, I respect Seeking Alpha’s need to disconnect those that have fallen asleep, this can also happen while one is composing a comment to an article. Your pause for thoughtful reflection penalizing you. Make certain this use for you anchors you back in the 20th century where you back up your compositions frequently.
Seeking Alpha, your app is infested with your own ads, always displaying an ad box, begging me to become a “Premium subscriber.” As a current subscriber of two of the investment groups who use your platform, I should not have to be subjected to your advertisements. It is really annoying to always have to be selecting the close icon (inside of your ad) in order to get rid of your advertisements. Please do me, and a lot of other people for that matter, a favor and disable those ads. I hope that you consider my request. On a sidenote, I will be happy to update and improve my rating for your app if the advertisements are removed. Thank you! *AN UPDATE to the Developer after his response: Do you honestly think that a cookie-cutter version of a response to my review here is reasonable and acceptable? Absolutely not. I gave plenty of specifics in my review above. Your ability to not take action screams how lazy you are being, and more importantly, it demonstrates your lack of care for those who use your app. That is not good customer service if you ask me. And then you wonder as to why people (and professional investing groups in your market place) are leaving your platform. Please do better!
A lot of the reviews on the App Store are complaining that you have to pay for this and pay for that. I get it, it’s frustrating having to pay to access all the features of the app. However, one must remember that quality information/services come with a cost. This isn’t to say that there isn’t quality information that is free on the internet but it’s unlikely to be in-depth analysis like you would get with paid content from any firm, organization, news outlet, etc. Think of it as an investment in a tool that will help with your investing decisions and enhance outcomes in the long run.
Excellent reports and analysis and a pleasure to use and access. I highly recommend this sight for the best information.
It was not clear that by clicking a learn more button or similar that I was going to buy a subscription that I didn't want. I was able to cancel it but that doesn't mean I got my money back. No, I had to go to Apple.com to get a refund. I like Seeking Alpha and I'm a premium member but that experience made me feel that it was an underhanded sleazy con.
Looks like the paid version has some good content but the free version is nothing more than a ploy to get you to get the paid version. Everything you click on has a paywall to upgrade to premium.
Too many times I see that features and functionality of the platform disappear and I am told they decided to make that feature only available for premium users.
I’ve a paid subscription and this ap will not open on my iPhone pro max 15 Many problems with correct billing lately on app purchased here Update I’ve a paid premium account The most recent bug is seeking alpha has removed ! The ability to alphabetize your portfolios has been removed Premium isn’t cheap and the app is terribly buggy
Apps like this that constantly beg for a subscription will not be installed on my phone.
If you’re a patient long term investor, getting the advice on Seeking Alpha a few days later than the analyst’s sending to his ‘paid’ subscribers, is still very worthy. If the advice is good, you can still act on it, in your own time zone.
They are an opinion biassed load of dog s. AT NEVER have they been right about anything. A stock drops 5 percent next article sell it it’s done. Next day 20 percent increase. It’s a bunch of pre pubescent kids writing opinionated articles. Trash of the trash apps
You get like 3 articles to read then everything else has a cost. Yeah I’m not paying to read amateur opinions I can get from any message board. Deleting the app.
My quick goto , to check company profitability, PE, graphs, recommendations - or not, buy, sell, hold, dividends and comments and opinions from other Seeking Alpha professional investors.
Why do people think they can lie? Blaring letters say Free. 1st thing I see trying to get info is trial subscription $4.95… Lie when the truth would be better. And easier.
I rarely write reviews. I use SeekingAlpha and they’ve taken away quick things that I use to search articles. I can’t see the number of comments and to see what the “public” is interested in. I wish there were ways to customize my dashboard a bit more so I could get more usability on the mobile app.
A friend who is a professional investor recommended Seeking Alpha to me a couple years ago. It has numerous unique offerings. I like the analyst’s articles, and especially the comments to them. I like SA’s stock summaries. I like that I can make investment portfolio’s and have SA updates and analyses on them. And, ching-ching, the Alpha Picks quant-based additional subscription has made me money. I’ve quantified what it’s done for me over 1.5 yrs, and am now preparing to add a third lump of money to that portfolio.
I’ve been having tons of scrolling and connection issues with the iPhone app. Also lots of connectivity issues on the website too. I don’t know what’s going on but I hope it is fixed soon. I love the service when it works. It is not my connection I should note, only the SeekingAlpha app and website have issues.
I have learned a lot about the stock markets.. Most all come from this site seeking alpha.I still have a long ways to go but I’m on this journey now and it’s no turn around for me…
A good platform to read other analysts’ articles on financial markets. Nevertheless, this app drains battery on my phone likes it a high performing video game. I’ve also encountered a lot of bugs. 3/5 stars
Seeking Alpha is my daily investment side kick. Life without good friends is less enjoyable. Investing with SA adds confidence to the basis for trade decisions
I have been using the premium version for a couple of years - totally worth it - there is plenty of useful information and insightful market analysis covering all financial areas from macro events to detailed commodities markets and fixed income portfolios, besides equities and related.
The mobile app has a bug where it does not scroll up/down within an article easily. It freezes as you use your finger tip to browse an article. The primary use case for the website is to read articles and being able to scroll smoothly is importance.
Keeps me informed reducing time I need to research.
Information overload that is getting hard to control. Similar to Apple imo, this app is getting too complicated to use all the features. I waste a lot of time deciding on what material is pertinent to my goals and I have trouble figuring out how to control what I receive. The same reason I was delighted with Apple’s I’m ease of use La i launched was SA’s appeal also. Now I’m having trouble navigating Cct both.
Unbiased studies that are evidence based and superbly comprehensive. All the Wall Street pundits have pages of opinions. In my 50 years as an independent investment advisor studying all their research papers I discovered it’s really designed to attract eyeballs but sadly doesn’t deliver acceptable investment performance!!
